Chicken in Honey-Mustard Marinade

The honey-mustard marinade is one of the simplest marinades. The honey-mustard mixture gives the meat a fine mustard note and a sweet taste of honey. It is amazing that the honey caramelizes slightly in the pan and spreads a light caramel aroma. You will be impressed by the simplicity and taste.

Ingredients

 1.50 tbsp mustard
 1 tbsp honey
 600 g chicken breast
 oil (for frying)

Why Is The Recipe Great?

  • The fine mustard taste and the sweetness of the honey are a brilliant combination, which becomes even more intense by frying in the pan.

  • Just two ingredients for a marinade. It couldn't be easier. It's hard to talk about effort. The marinade is ready in a flash.

Directions

1

Mix honey and mustard in a bowl.

2

Cut chicken breast fillets into pieces and marinate for at least 30 minutes (it would be best to marinate them for up to 4 hours).

3

Fry the chicken breast in the pan with a little bit of oil.

Variations

Mustard - My personal favorite is Bautz' ner mustard (german one). Try or use different types of mustard according to your taste, such as spicy, piquant, coarse or fine mustard.

Without Honey - Replace the honey with a syrup or agave juice.

Meat - White meat goes well with this marinade. Try also turkey or pork.

Many herbs - Add fresh thyme to the marinade.

Spicy - pepper or chili can tickle your taste buds even more. Just put it in the marinade.

Tips & Time Savings

  • Put the meat in the fridge a few hours before cooking. This makes the chicken breast fillet more tender and juicy and you save time.
  • You can keep the leftovers in the fridge for one day. When warming up, briefly place the meat in a microwave oven or fry into in a pan.
